He received his medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1981 and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Lee A. Cowen has over thirty years of clinical practice experience in Internal Medicine in the Philadelphia area. During this time Dr. Cowen acted as Medical Director, Palliative Care at Jeanes Hospital outside of Philadelphia, as well as Medical Directors at Hospice of the Delaware Valley, Chapel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Genesis Healthcare. Additionally, Dr. Cowen championed, instituted, and organized the Palliative Care Programs at Jeanes Hospital and Holy Redeemer Health System.

Dr. Cowen is a health enthusiast who enjoys playing golf and tennis in his spare time. He has a special interest in diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and nutrition.
